This weekend, the French city of Annecy will once again be the center of the continental trail running in celebration of European Off Road Championship from May 31 to June 2.
This will be the second edition of this event, which in 2022 was held in El Paso, Spain, and where the national team won eleven medals.
The championship presents interesting routes for different events, with the finish line always located in the French town itself except for those in vertical rise, which starts in the town of Saint Jorioz and ends at the Semnoz ski resort. The senior exam will have a route of 7.4 kilometers with 950 meters of positive slope and the Sub20 of 5.6 kilometers with 830 meters of positive slope

In this case, there are no laps, and athletes in the U20 category will travel 5.9 kilometers in a linear fashion with 400 meters of positive gradient. This long distance European Annecy, the Trailwill consist of approx 58 kilometers with 3509 meters of positive slope with the beginning in Faverges and the end in Annecy. The route will run along the western slope of La Tournette, the mountain that dominates the right side of Lake Annecy, and will have a maximum elevation of 1,662 meters above sea level.

Spain went to the European Off Road Championships in Annecy with 23 athletes, 13 men and 10 women, after the withdrawal of José Ángel Fernández.
