Ana Peleteiro gained direct access to European athletics triple jump final with a mark of 14.21 meters on his first try.
Peleteiro, bronze medalist at the Tokyo Olympics and at the last Indoor World Championships in Glasgow, did her homework on her first attempt. The Galician jumped 14.21, missed the 14.10 required to advance to the final and surrendered the next two jumps.
The ones with better jumps than the Spaniard in the qualification round were Bulgarian Aleksandra Nacheva with 14.29 meters and Turkish Tugba Danismaz with 14.27.
“Qualifying was very good, with a good feeling. I’m testing the track and I’m looking forward to the final, calm,” said the Spanish athlete, at the end of his test.
Ana Peleteiro has competed in thirteen qualifications throughout her sporting career. He has qualified for the final in all of them by passing them all.
Missing the final is Finnish Kriistina Mäkela, European runner-up at Munich 2022. The triple jump final is on Sunday, June 9 at 9:04 pm
