Two horrific industrial accidents occurred in the Tyrolean lowlands on Thursday. Two workers (22 and 31) suffered serious hand injuries. The 22-year-old Brit even had his thumb chopped off.
The man was working with a circular saw in a workshop in Oberau in the Wildschönau around 2:20 p.m. For some unknown reason, his hand became entangled in the saw blade and severed his thumb.
A colleague of the Briton raised the alarm. The rescue helicopter took the injured person to the clinic in Innsbruck.
The rope broke and hit the worker’s hand
A 31-year-old Serb also landed there a few hours earlier. At around 9:30 a.m., he and a 34-year-old colleague were at a construction site in Jenbach, pulling a cable underground with a winch. According to police, the rope broke for an unknown reason and hit the worker in the right hand.
The man suffered serious injuries. After initial treatment by the emergency doctor, he was taken to the clinic.
