More than 1.3 per mille – Drunk driver drove without a driver’s license

Date:

Heavily drunk and apparently full of drugs, a 24-year-old from Innviertel got behind the wheel of his car on Saturday evening. When checked in Wels, he reacted aggressively and refused a drugs test. The man also did not have a valid driver’s license.

It was Saturday at 12:50 p.m. when a civilian patrol team on Uhlandstrasse in Wels became aware of a driver who appeared suspicious and whom they stopped. Behind the wheel was a 24-year-old from Ried im Innkreis, who became increasingly restless and aggressive during the check.

Refused drug test
The reason for this should become clear soon. The man no longer had a driver’s license and also had 1.34 per mille of alcohol in his blood.

But that was not all: the police officers were able to clearly determine from various characteristics that the Innviertler was also under the influence of drugs. However, the 24-year-old refused to take a drug test and did not appear before a doctor.

Wheel clamp attached
When he was forbidden to continue driving, the driver locked his car and simply walked away. Police then attached a wheel clamp to his car. The 24-year-old’s behavior will now likely cost him dearly;
