Surprising comeback?

Date:

Gareth Bale (34) announced, in January 2023, after participating with Geles in the World Cup in Qatar, that he would retire from professional football. The former Madrid player says enough is enough after the last season full of injuries and is more motivated to play golf than football. Southampton, Tottenham, Real Madrid, Los Angeles FC and… is that it? It looks like it is, but it might not be.

A year after saying ‘no’ to an initial proposal from Wrexham from Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, the striker received another. And it’s very curious. “Gareth Bale is still technically available! I begged him last year to come and now I just want to tell him that the offer is still on the table,” McElhenney told ‘The Athletic’.

The proposal was attractive: “We let him play golf whenever he wants. As long as he comes to practice a few times a week, we’ll see how he can be included in the team.” More facilities are almost impossible. We will have to see how Bale and his agent, Jonathan Barnett, respond, as they have already made it clear that the Welshman has achieved everything he set out to achieve.
