The Spanish Olympic tennis team will not have Paula Badosa. The Catalan gave up playing in the Paris Games with a protected ranking because the tournament does not distribute points for the WTA classification, as announced this Wednesday by the coach, Anabel Medina, in an event held at the RCT Barcelona facilities .
Spain will go to Paris with only two representatives, Sara Sorribes from Castellónnumber 55 in the WTA, and the Cantabrian Cristina Bucsa (67), who will play in both individual and doubles tournaments.
As for the men’s category, Carlos Alcaraz and Rafa Nadal will lead a Spanish team which will be completed by Alejandro Davidovich, Pablo Carreño and Marcel Granollers, according to coach David Ferrer.
Alcaraz, Nadal, Davidovich and Carreño will play in singleswhile the doubles will be performed by Alcaraz and Nadal on one side, while Marcel Granollers will lead the other, whose member (Davidovich or Carreño) has not yet been revealed, despite the fact that Ferrer said that the decision is quite clear.
