A new international athletics league was born: Grand Slam Track

The legendary American sprinter Michael Johnson has announced the launch of a new international athletics league that will debut in 2025 and be named after Grand Slam Track.

The event aims to bring together the best elite athletes the world has to offer prizes of up to $100,000 for winners and winners.

As Johnson announced through a press release, the new league starts in April 2025 and includes four ralliestwo of which will take place in the United States.

“I am delighted to finally introduce the Grand Slam Track to millions of athletics fans around the world,” said the four-time Olympic champion. “We are excited to launch this new platform for the best runners on the planet in this sport we all love. Our team has worked tirelessly to design and develop a product that will delight fans and give our runners the opportunities they really deserve,” he said.


The Grand Slam Track will include 6 groups of races by gender – short sprint, long sprint, short hurdles, long hurdles, middle distance and long distance – and will have a total of 96 athletes, 48 ​​men and 48 women. Half are athletes contracted to participate in all ‘Slams’ and the rest are selected for each of the events individually based on their performance and potential.

The American Sydney McLaughlin-LevroneOlympic 400m hurdles champion, the first athlete to join the initiative.

“I feel honored to be one of the first female Grand Slam Track runners,” said McLaughlin-Levrone. “Michael’s vision is clear and he is the very leader that this sport needs to break new ground.
