But at the New York Grand Prix I felt something in the race and though I decided to continue, after a few steps near the finish line I realized that something was really wrong. I sat on the ground because I couldn’t put pressure on my leg while they were taking me out of the court. I quickly went for medical tests and they found that I had a small tear in my Achilles tendon. It’s great to come home with the mentality to continue pushing and preparing for the Jamaican trials and my third Olympic Games, but my leg won’t allow it,” Thompson declared on Instagram.
