It is now official and UEFA will implement referee dialogue with captains in all club competitions it organizes, starting from Champions League. When the captain is the goalkeeper and therefore not close to the action in most cases, teams will be asked to designate an authorized field player to communicate with the referees and receive their explanations. Players who ignore these instructions and approach the referees to show disagreement or disrespect will be reprimanded.
