Pedersen tried it and actually competed in the individual time trial on Friday, but the consequences of his hard fall at the finish line of fifth stage at Saint-Vulbas forced Pedersen to abandon this Tour de France. “The pain and scratches did not improve, and the range of motion in his left shoulder was limited to the point that it was difficult for him to hold his bike,” his team explained in a statement.
