Madness: Sifan Hassan to run 1,500m, 5,000m, 10,000m and marathon in Paris

The Dutch athlete Sifan Hassan will show all its versatility at the Paris Olympic Games, where it will compete in at least four events, according to reports Athletics Illustrated.

The Ethiopian-born but Dutch-national runner, who has already won three medals (two gold and one bronze) at the Tokyo Games, will defend his crown in 5,000m and 10,000m and will try to add a new title 1,500m and marathon.

Hassan’s Olympic schedule begins at Friday 2 August in the first round of the 5,000m and continues the next day in the 1,500m. If he qualifies, on Friday 5th he will compete in the 5,000m final and on Monday 8th in the 1,500m semi-final. On the 9th and 10th there will be the 10,000m and 1,500m finals, and finally, the women’s marathon will be run, which will be the final test of the Paris Olympic Games on Sunday August 11.

Hassan, 31, began to stand out in athletics in 2011, when he won the Eindhoven half marathon in a time of 1h17:10. In 2019, the athlete gained international recognition by winning two gold medals in Qatar Athletics World Cup at 1,500m and 10,000m.

In 2021, during the Tokyo Olympicswon three medals: two golds in the 5,000m and 10,000m and a bronze in the 1,500m.

Two years later, in 2023, he debuted at 42.195 kilometers with a victory in london marathon and won two medals (silver and bronze) in Budapest Athletics World Cup. A few months later, in October, he won the Chicago Marathon with a time of 2h13:44, the second fastest in history in the women’s category.

This Sunday, Hassan competed in the FBK Gameswhere he was fifth in the 1,500m test with a time of 4:04.83 minutes.
