Juan Ayuso confirmed that this Wednesday he is not feeling well in the middle massif stage of Tour de France where he lost by 4.39, he pointed out that his leader, the Slovenian Tadej Pogacar“feels great” and that in the Pyrenean stages of the weekend they will try to finish the race.
“The central massif has these things. I don’t feel good and in this race when you lack crumbs you pay a lot and more on a difficult course. But I am calm because I know where it came from and how to solve it.“said the UAE cyclist, now ninth overall, 7.09 behind Pogacar.
Ayuso affirmed that he is ready to do what his team asks of him, saying that they are here “to win the Tour” and that their leader is in good shape to do so.
“It’s like this Wednesday we lost and to be honest we only lost by one second. In the Pyrenees, we will try to do the same as we did in the Galibier and try to finish the race,” he said.
The Spaniard has made sure his personal career ambitions are at the mercy of Pogacar’s needs, but he doesn’t rule out having some freedom.
“It’s a dream to win a stage, it depends a lot on what the team asks of me and the racing situations that arise,” he said.
