Vingegaard: “I don’t consider the Tour lost”

Date:

The danish Jonas Vingegaard was satisfied with his performance in the fourteenth stage of the Tour de Francealthough he regretted leaving 37 seconds behind the Slovenian Tadej Pogacar but indicated that he did not consider the race lost.

It’s true that losing time is never positive, but I think I had a good performance. When the slope is more difficult, it cuts his time, but when it becomes flatter it is more in his favor,” said the Visma runner.

The winner of the last two editions taught that The gap of almost two minutes that separates him from the yellow jersey is “significant” but he made it clear that the Tour is still alive.: “I don’t give it up for lost.”

Despite the gap left at the finish line, Vingegaard said he was not disappointed: “I think I’m more than the Galibier stage.”

Vingegaard said he was satisfied with his team’s performancealthough he admitted that Pogacar’s UAE had put in a good performance.

The Dane indicated that this Sunday’s stage, which is longer and with greater resistance, suits him better: “Today’s stage is a very short stage. We will see what happens tomorrow.”

The runner complained about the behavior of some fans who booed him and threw some things at him: “I think they should encourage everyone, they don’t have to throw things at anyone. I don’t understand someone who goes to a cycling race to court the runners.”
