The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) proposed 11 stadiums as candidates to host matches during the 2030 World Cup, including those in Atlético de Madrid, Football Club Barcelona and the real Madrid.
Spain, which will organize the tournament with Portugal and Moroccoas well as centennial hosts, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguaywill also have 45 additional venues that will serve as bases for teams, the RFEF said on Friday.
Other LaLiga clubs whose stadiums are listed Málaga, The Real societyhe Athletic Bilbao, Las Palmas and the climb spanish.
The stadium of Mestalla of Valenciadespite being the fifth largest in LaLiga with a capacity for 49,430 spectators, was not included in the list of possible venues.
“To determine the places, all possibilities were evaluated, including the expansion to 13, an option to be taken jointly by the three federations,” the RFEF said in a statement.
The tournament will have a maximum of 20 venues, the RFEF added. The co-host country, Moroccoannounced plans last year to build a stadium nearby white house and modernize another six before the World Cup.
