4-0: Douvikas cements himself with a hat trick and Celta beat Vizuela

Date:

Celta added their first win of the preseason against Portuguese side Vizela on Saturday, in a match in which Greek striker Tasos Douvikas took advantage to cement himself with three goals.

24 hours after Celta announced the signing of Borja Iglesias, their main competitor for a place up front has staked their claim. Douvikas scored three goals in 45 minutes, making it clear he will fight to partner Iago Aspas in the attacking line.

The match has little history due to celestial superiority. Two minutes later, after a lateral foul, Douvikas opened the scoring. The Greek extended the lead midway through the first half with a goal from 25 metres, and capped his excellent night on the stroke of half-time after beating Ruberto one-on-one, in an action strongly opposed by the Portuguese, who called for offside at the start of the play.

Claudio Giráldez took advantage of the second game of the summer to conduct some tests. The light blue coach tried Óscar Mingueza as a midfielder and put the young Sergio Carreira at left back. In the defensive line, Manquillo and Jailson accompanied the Swede, Carl Starfelt.

Before Douvikas made it 2-0, Vizela, a team led by Spaniard Rubén de la Barrera, threatened with a powerful shot from Joapo Reis hitting the post and a shot from Bastunov hitting the body of his partner Heber.

Both coaches made a move at half-time. Swede Williot Swedberg again left hints of his quality and youngster Pablo Durán, one of the reserve team players promoted to the first team, scored his second goal of the preseason.
