Real Betis and Tokyo Verdy, a club in the highest category of Japanese football, have signed a cooperation agreement to jointly develop business, corporate and social projects, in addition to exchanging experiences in the field of sports and expanding their brands in Japan and Spain, respectively.
This alliance was signed by both entities during the last ‘Real Betis Week’ held in Japan and is the second agreement of its kind that the Sevillian team has closed with another international club, in this case a historic club in Japanese football , after the formalization of last October with Raja Casablanca Moroccan.
Betis reported this Tuesday in a statement agreement with Tokyo Verdy, of the J-League, will allow the “strengthening of common ties and transmission of shared values”, and emphasized that both entities, in addition to cooperation in business, social and sports areas, will also do so in the environmental field through the Forever Green and Tokyo Green sustainability platforms.
Founded in 1969, Tokyo Verdy is one of the historic clubs of Japanese football, heritage of Verdy Kawasaki and Yomiuri FC, and has national titles such as the J-League and the Emperor’s Cup under its belt.
In its beginning, according to Betis, it was one of the clubs that promoted the professionalization of football in Japan and the creation of the league in his country, and in recent years he has played a very important role in the development of football academies and in the development of actions aimed at his community, values that he shares with Real Betis and the Its foundation.
This collaboration agreement is the first signed by the Betic club with a Japanese team and is part of the internationalization strategy launched by the entity within an emerging market like Asia, in addition to “bringing together two cities like Seville and Tokyo, very much united by tourism and now by football.”
The president of Tokyo Verdy, Takaaki Nakamurastated that they are “very excited” by “this sponsorship with Real Betis, one of the most important clubs in Spain”, and highlighted that with this collaboration they set the “goal of improvement” of their environmental responsibility initiative and social ‘Tokyo Green’ launch this season.
The first executive of Betis, Ramón Alarcónhighlighted, for his part, the value of an agreement with a club of great historical importance in Japan and which carries out great social work in its community.
“It’s an honor to build new bridges with clubs as historically linked to Japanese football as Tokyo Verdy. We share values and projects that impact our respective communities and with which we feel fully identified. Furthermore, we both know that football can be an important tool to improve our environment and we are doing a lot with it,” he said.
