Two days left before the opening ceremony of Olympic GamesThe Integrity Unit in Athletics (AIU) announced the suspension of the Polish high jumper Norbert Kobielski for using a prohibited substance.
According to the Reuters agency, the AIU indicated that the athlete tested positive for the norephedrine metabolite of pentedrone, a banned substance and therefore will not be able to participate in the Olympic Games in Paris.
Last year he won bronze at the European Games and had a personal best of 2.33 meters achieved in the Eugene Diamond League in September. The Paris Olympics begin this Friday, July 26, but the athletics competitions don’t begin until August 1, with the men’s and women’s 20 kilometer walk.
