That Olympic gold medal Clyde Drexler won as part of the legendary Dream Team of Barcelona 92 appears on an auction block at Goldin Auctions with an initial bid of $250,000, according to the TMZ portal.
It is not clear why Drexler is evident from this historical piece, but in April he filled out a letter of authenticity in which he declared that he had no intention of fighting to reclaim the award in the future. In the letter of authenticity he also said that he would never attempt to copy it through United States Olympic Committee.
Drexler made history in Barcelona when he, Michael JordanLarry bird,Magic Johnson and a bunch of other Hall of Famers came together to beat Croatia in the finals of the Games after sweeping the competition in the event. Drexler and the company won their eight games with authority and since then they have been considered the best team ever assembled.
According to Goldin experts, this is the first time that a Dream Team gold has been sold, and they are confident that it will also be the last. “This medal is rare,” said experts.
