Paraguayan center-back Omar Alderete announced on Tuesday with a message on social networks that he will not be continuing in Valencia next season and indicated that the club will not exercise the purchase option he has in his loan agreement with Hertha Berlin since last summer.
The Ciudad del Este player admitted he wanted to continue. “I wish I could have continued but unfortunately football has these things,” the defender said.
Alderete, starter with José Boradlás, thanked the treatment he received in conjunction with his graduation from his stage at the Mestalla club. “I am delighted with the club, with the people, with the city,” said the player from Esteño.
Since Valencia did not qualify for European competitions, the purchase option was not mandatory and from Alderete’s point of view, the club would have negotiated that it would not pay Hertha 7.5 million to buy its rights.
