The Salamanca coach joined Real Zaragoza’s discipline in December 2020, in a delicate sporting moment for the whole of La Romareda. Under his direction, and after the incorporation of Juan Ignatius Martinez on the bench and the winter market reinforcements, Real Zaragoza experienced a noticeable recovery in sport that allowed it to maintain the category at that time.
Torrecilla has a long history, which solidified his prestige as head of sports management. After his start in Novelda, Cartagena or Salamanca, he took command of Celta de Vigo, where he progressed from Segunda to play competition in Europe. After that, he taught the sports of Betis and Sporting de Gijón so that, before joining the ranks of Real Zaragoza, he acted as manager of Waasland-Beveren in the Belgian League.
