Ducati has confirmed Fabio di Giannantonio as the VR46 team rider

Date:

Ducati Corse this Wednesday confirmed its compatriot Fabio di Giannantonio as the official rider of the brand for the next two seasons of 2025 and 2026, and will continue to drive for the VR46 team, owned by Valentino Rossi, which becomes the new factory support team replacing Pramac Racing.

Di Giannantonio is currently the driver for that team, where he will continue for the next two seasons, although it remains to be seen who will be his teammate, as the Italian Marco Bezzecchi, who is currently with him, will become an official Aprilia rider. But everything indicates that the Tavullia team will stick with its current duo and Franco Morbidelli will renew although he will lose ‘gallons’, he no longer has a ‘pata negra’ motorcycle.

“We are happy to have Fabio Di Giannantonio with our Ducati riders for the next two years. Diggia has always shown great confidence in our project, and his dedication and talent have led him to grow continuously in MotoGP. We are sure that, together with the VR46 Racing Team and with the official Desmosedici GP, he will have more opportunities to bring out his full potential,” welcomed Gigi Dall’Igna, general manager.

“Being able to sign this contract is important for me and I am proud of it. I will be part of the Ducati family for two years and continue with my VR46 Racing Team. This represents a milestone and an important starting point for my career. With the support of Ducati and having an official motorcycle, we can continue to develop and achieve great things together. Ok, Uccio, all my team members and staff because the whole trip will not be possible this without them,” Diggia highlighted.

In nine months Fabio di Giannantoniowith a MotoGP win on his record, went from being unemployed, since Marc Márquez arrived at Gresini Racing where he was racing, he was left without a motorcycle, until the VR46 saved him to race a GP23 motorcycle to race in 2025 and 2026 with Full Factory and official Ducati contract.
