Trial in Vienna – life threatening! Woman injected fake injections for weight loss

Date:

A 28-year-old Ukrainian woman is due to appear in court at Vienna Regional Court on Wednesday after she gave her clients fake OZEMPIC weight loss injections, putting their lives in danger. According to the Vienna Public Prosecutor’s Office, she does not have the necessary training or permits.

The list of victims is long. In succession, the fake beauty teacher collected hundreds to thousands of euros and last winter administered a dangerously botched mixture to their clients using counterfeit OZEMPIC ready-to-use pens.

Instead of the hoped-for weight loss, the victims experienced dangerous side effects that, according to the Public Prosecution Service, endangered their lives. The suspect pretended that the preparations were original syringes.

The women suffered serious damage to their health from severe cramps and sweating, with the risk of potentially life-threatening hypoglycemia, a drop in blood glucose. During the trial, the tall, dark-haired woman testified that she had previously studied journalism for five years and then medicine in Odessa.

Officers found during house search
When the dangerous fraud was discovered, agents of the Federal Criminal Police intervened and searched the illegal “beauty salon”. This resulted in a new crime committed by the Ukrainian: she wanted to use force to prevent the agents from searching the house by pushing them: resistance to state authority.

In the trial, the Ukrainian, defended by lawyer Alexander Philipp, pleaded guilty. She risked six months to five years in prison. A verdict will be delivered soon: 15 months suspended prison sentence. Pre-trial detention from 2 to 16 February 2024 is expected.

“It is worrying that they are administering counterfeit medicines with medical training,” the judge warned in explaining the verdict.
