Austrian Post earned well in the first half of 2024. Revenue rose 17.2 percent year-on-year to 1.51 billion euros. According to the company, the positive effects include elections and the currency situation of the Turkish lira.
The post office operates the parcel delivery company Aras Kargo in Turkey. The driving force behind the company was again the parcel and logistics sector, with a turnover increase from 28.1 to 804.9 million euros. This means that the letter and advertising mail sector has clearly been overtaken (619 million euros).
New General Manager
“Given the challenging market environment and inflation-related cost increases, the first half of 2024 was very successful with an increase in revenue and profit,” said outgoing Post Office CEO Georg Pölzl. The Styrian will retire at the end of September after 15 years as executive chairman. The previous CFO, Walter Oblin, will take over on October 1.
For the full year, the state-owned company expects revenue growth in the upper single-digit range.
