Showing off his great climbing skills Belgian cyclist Justine Chekiere has achieved victory in the seventh and penultimate stage of Women’s Tour de Franceincluding final promotion to Grand-Bornand (Monte du Chinaillon)second category, 8.2 kilometers at 4.7%.

The runner of AG Insurance-Soudal Team achieved a clear victory with a 1’15” margin over the Frenchwoman Maeva Squiban and he did it by honoring the polka dot jersey that characterizes the best mountain bikers. The Izegem cyclist has again shown his good qualities as a climber, as he did before in Giro d’Italia and on Cycling Tour in Catalonia. Saturday’s achievement was his first victory of the season and second as a professional.

Knowing which runner would win the stage, all eyes were on the duel between the Poles Katarzyna Niewiadoma and the Dutch Demi Vollering. The former defended itself well against the attacks of the victor in the last edition of the Tour de France and she finished the day with almost the same margin with which she would start the day compared to the Dutchwoman, 1’15”; she was also closer to the Dutchwoman. Puck Pieterse27″, and the French way Cédrine Kerbaol, 37″.

This Sunday the Women’s Tour de France will be held on the queen’s stage, with three mountain passes and two special category passes: Coul du Glandon (19.7 km at 7.2%) and the end at Alpe d’Huez (13.8 km at 8.1%).
