The International Tennis Federation (ITF) has announced a significant increase in prize money for both men and women on the ITF World Tennis Tour, the main gateway to professional tennis, starting next year.
In addition, the 100, 75 and 50 category tournaments of the women’s circuit will have mandatory hospitality to help the financial effort that the players have to face.
So, from 2025 there will be a total $35.3 million in prizes in over 1,100 tournaments held around the world. This is a 20 percent increase over the total $29.4 million budgeted in 2024.
Improving the economics of prizes is aimed at easing the financial situation of many players. For women, the goal is to reduce hotel costs, which are often important to an athlete’s budget. In fact, from the 25 tournaments that in 2024 had mandatory hospitality, there will be 150 competitions in 2025 that will take care of player accommodation costs.
Currently, there are five tournament levels on the Women’s ITF Circuit: categories 15 and 35, the entry level, and 50, 75 and 10, equivalent to the Challenger level. Starting next year, there will be a total $20.7 million in prizes available.
In addition, among the best agreed upon is mandatory hospitality for those in the 50 and 75 categories, an increase in prize money.
As for the men’s circuit, with entry levels 15 and 25, there will be a total of 14.6 million dollars in prize money from 2025.
