Double for the Visma team in Poland and Vingegaard won the general classification

Date:

The Dane Jonas Vingegaard made good predictions and achieved the final victory in the 81st edition of the Tour of Poland. Fourth in the first stage, the two-time Tour de France champion took advantage of second place in the individual time trial on day two to become the race leader, a position he did not abandon in any of the following stages, until as he finally embraced the victory this Sunday in the general

This is the third overall victory won by Jonas Vingegaard so far this season, after O Gran Camiño and Tirreno Adriatico. He finished 2nd in the Tour de France and was unable to complete Itzulia after suffering a serious fall in the fourth stage.

And to make the party complete for Visma – in a year where he has clearly lost muscle for the sake of Tadej Pogacar’s UAE Team Emirates – his teammate, Dutchman Olav Kooij, triumphed in the sprint in the final stage of the day, leading Belgians Tim Merlier and Gerben Thijssen. This Sunday was Visma’s 27th victory in this campaign.

So far, Jonas Vingegaard has not specified what his next careers will be.
