Yesterday, at course of the second ascent of the day, Alto de Batalhaa large crowd eagerly awaited the passage of the platoon of The Return. The crowd behaved as they should, encouraging the runners, but without overdoing it, without approaching them and without running beside them in a crazy way and making a show of it.
But in the crowd there is always someone who wants to make a statement and yesterday in the second stage of the Spanish round it was seen again. First, some fans caused disruption to the peloton by invading the road and not leaving room for the cyclists.
And soon, on the same climb, a novice caused the fall of Checho Vacekwhich at that moment was second in general, and the fury of the runner went in search of the culprit and reproached him for his attitude. Fortunately, everything ended in fear and no consequences were obtained from the blow, beyond the heat of the moment for Mathias and the return to group discipline.
Now, with two ascensions, we hope these situations won’t happen again.
