“That’s what everyone says but, unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to see him play much. In any case, the comparison is good.especially in his short game,” he explained in remarks collected by the tournament’s website.
Ballester, who will receive invitations to the US Open and Augusta Masters (if he remains a rookie), maintained that he was not yet “aware” of the milestone achieved on his birthday.
“I am so grateful to be alive in this moment, especially on my 21st birthday. It’s very special. “We’ve had great Spanish players and we’ve had great legends and to add my name to that list is very special,” he admitted.

“When I finished I cried. When it was over, I thought about my family and friends, especially my mom and dad. It was a difficult summer, I was not feeling well and had some personal issues because my grandmother was not feeling well, she was quite sick. All those emotions emerged,” he explained in statements collected by the tournament’s website.
Asked by his ‘caddie’ and friend Alberto Ballester, he explained what they both felt before facing the last hole: “We looked at each other and said, ‘okay, let’s have fun on this last ride.'”
