The Spanish Pablo Torres was shown this Sunday at final stage of the Tour del Porvenir to finish second overall final of the sixtieth edition, only twelve seconds behind the eventual winner, the British Joseph Blackmore.
Torres, 18, earned his second stage victory after signing on Thursday to extend the lead he had to give up on Friday.
This Saturday, Pablo Torres launched an attack in search of the final victory and single-handedly won the final stage with a 3:43 minute margin that was not enough for Blackmore. Dutchman Tijmen Graat completed the podium, 4:09 behind.
Blackmore, 21, took the final race victory with 12 seconds ahead of Torres and 50 seconds ahead of Graat. The British, the first winner of his national team in the event, succeeded the Mexican Isaac del Toro in history.
Pablo Torres is close to regaining victory for Spain at the Tour del Porvenir, which Marc Soler won in 2015.
In the women’s version of the race, Spanish Eneritz Vadillo completed the podium 5:16 minutes behind the winner, French Marion Bunel. Second was the Canadian Isabella Holmgren and fourth, also the Spanish Paula Blasi.
