Paulo Fonseca denied the rumors about Theo and Leao

Date:

The technician of AC Milan, Paulo Fonsecawas quick to relieve any tension in the Rafael Leao and Theo Hernandez after both players were substituted yesterday in the 2-2 draw against Lazio. Fonseca left out both players from the starting team, but after his team trailed 2-1 he made four substitutions that immediately changed the game, with Hernández and Tammy Abraham, another substitute, included with Leao’s equalizer.

A few minutes later, the game stopped for a break, and both coaches took the opportunity to instruct their players, but both Leao and Theo remained on the other side of the field, not participating in the team talk. “In Theo and Leao’s situation there is no problem and I think Theo already explained it,” said Fonseca to DAZN.

“We don’t need to create any problems, this week I talked to the players and they accepted my decision. There was no problem, I was focused and I didn’t see that they weren’t there.” Hernández gave his reasons immediately after the game. “We’ve been on for two minutes, we don’t need a break to cool off,” he said.

“It was nothing against the team and the coach. Then people talk, they say things that are not true. Rafa and I are always with the team to help, and that is the important thing,” Theo added.

Milan are still winless in the league this season after three games, but Fonseca saw a decent performance from his team in the first half, giving him something to work with. “We should always have the courage we had in the first half because we did good things. If we had won the other two games, it could have been a good result, but it wasn’t like that. But we have to start with the first half now.”
