The Spanish team participated this Saturday in cycling and canoeing. Four top 10 finishes were achieved between the two disciplines, with fourth place for Juan Antonio Valle after narrowly missing out on the medals.
Juan Valle almost won a medal in the KL3-200. He was on the podium until the end of the race, but was overtaken in the final meters. Meanwhile, Inés Felipe won the B final of the VL2-200 to finish ninth.
Cycling ended with a great trip by the Spanish delegation to Paris. This has been done in the final online exam in categories C1-C3, in which Ricardo Ten and Eduardo Santas participated. They were respectively ninth and tenth in a race in which they were unable to fight for medals that seemed complicated at the beginning.
Sampu set a time of 1:50:37 in a race where he broke away from the pack fighting for the medals. He was just five seconds ahead of Santas, who followed him in the classification.
Ten remained in the leading group on the first lap of 71 kilometers starting and finishing in Clichy-sous-Bois, with the usual level of Courtry (1 km at 4.5%) and Clichy-sous-Bois (850 meters at 4.7%), but he dropped to second and had to gain places late in the race. Meanwhile, Santas remained in the chasing group, but suffered in the final kilometers.
