Mariona Caldentey just landed on Arsenal and has done so with local fans. The Mallorcan footballer, who left FC Barcelona this summer to move to London, did not need a day to adapt and won the love of the ‘Gunner’ fans from day one, offering a special that song to him.
After the last match, in the Champions League, against Rosenborg, dozens of fans started singing “Twist and shout!”, which surprised the player himself, who showed his amazement as well as joy, in front of the fan club media microphone. “At first I didn’t realize it was for me,” he admits.
“It has been surprising, the truth is that I value it a lot. I am very happy here, I feel very valued and well accepted by everyone. I love the song, I think it is everyone’s favorite. I hope we can celebrate many things that together.”
