This Wednesday, Paula Ostiz was proclaimed as the new European junior time trial championby winning the first round of the Continental Championships that started in Limburg-Flanders (Belgium).
The Navarrese cyclist completed a time of 17:52.317 in the 13.3 kilometers of the test.which allowed her to climb to the top of the podium ahead of Dutch Fee Knaven, who she beat by 1.38, and Slovak Viktoria Chladonova, third in 10.81.
Ostiz appeared in this European Championships after winning the overall victory in the Watersley Nations Cup.
Irati Aranguren from Gipuzkoa finished in twenty-first place in 1:18.35.
In the junior men’s event, victory for Dutchman Michiel Mouris, ahead of Belgian Jasper Schoofs, second in 7.03 seconds; and German Paul Fietzke, third in 23.99.
Spaniard Héctor Álvarez finished eighth in 1:01.36 minutes. Iker Gómez was twenty-fourth in 2:21.036 and Enrique Maranchón, thirty-ninth in 3:46.783.
In the under-23 events, Belgian Alec Segaert won, with Markel Beloki twelfth in 1:58.35 minutes; and Finnish Anniina Ahtosalo, with Eneritz Vadillo in twenty-eighth in 4:17.06.
