Ten teams are following the budget limit and two have committed a breach

Date:

The ten Formula 1 teams comply in 2023 with the budget limit imposed by the financial regulation introduced in 2021 by the International Automobile Federation (FIA), but engine manufacturers Alpine and Honda They committed an administrative violation, the FIA reported on Tuesday.

Like last year, all teams received approval from the FIA, which imposed a penalty on Red Bull in 2022 for exceeding the maximum limit in 2021, the year in which the new regulations began.

“The review of the reporting documentation was an intensive and intensive process that lasted five months, during which all the F1 teams and power unit manufacturers gave their full support by providing the necessary information, ” said the company.

“The Budget Cap Administration states that all F1 teams and power unit manufacturers will at all times act in a spirit of good faith and cooperation throughout the process,” it continued.

However, although it was found that all the teams complied with the regulations, two of the four engine manufacturers, Alpine and Honda (which will equip the cars of Red Bull and AlphaTauri in 2023), made “procedural violations” although “none of them exceeded the budget limit,” the FIA said.

Alpine and Honda have “always acted in good faith and are currently working with the Budget Ceiling Administration to resolve the matter,” the FIA concluded.

In 2022, Aston Martin was singled out for the same reason and reached an out-of-court settlement with the Budget Ceiling Administration, along with a fine.
