The president of LaLiga, Javier Tebasaccused this Friday of companies such as Google and Apple be”accomplices“of robbery of football matches and called for “real punishment” to alleviate the problem.
“With technology, these big companies can end it (piracy), but they don’t want because it is a source of financing,” said Tebas at the ‘Thinking Football Summit’, a conference organized by the Portuguese League in Porto.
“Google, above all Google is hurting us with it heist audiovisual they do to us (…) If Google wants it, it will end 90% of piracy,” he added.
According to Javier Tebas, one of three Spaniards illegal access to football and argued that “if there was real punishment, there would be less looting.”
The president of LaLiga also criticized the next Club World Cup and accused FIFA of “destroy” a football ecosystem which has been “a success over the last 20 years” in “restricting national calendars.”
“This is a disaster for other competitions. (…) Is this what we want for the football ecosystem?” Tebas asked himself.
