Rangers refused to play in the controversial Sydney Super Cup in November.
Ibrox FC confirmed his departure in a statement saying that “the tournament organizers did not want to fulfill their obligations.”
Light Blue Celtics will meet in the inaugural year-end cycle.
But these plans were met with a huge response from fans who were angry about playing a friendly match with their main rivals.
Ibrox fans have repeatedly protested their trip to Australia, including by throwing tennis and paper balls into Dunn Park in a 2-1 win over Dundee.
Former GERS chief Dave King has offered to pay out all potential losses the club might incur after being knocked out of a friendly match, Football Scotland reports.
But it was announced that Rangers have finalized the deal with the organisers, a move that will delight fans.
“Rangers can confirm that the club will not participate in the Sydney Super Cup in November 2022,” the club said in a statement.
After it became clear that the tournament organizers were not ready to fulfill their obligations to Rangers, we immediately terminated the club’s contract with the organizers.
