Real Sociedad is innovating this season in its women’s team by using for the first time a special pair of pants suitable for the female form in the first kit, the txuri urdin. The pants have a different design than the men’s team. This new dress, which they debuted in the League in Barcelona, is also white but with wide blue stripes on the sides and also on the crotch, and the reason for the latter is not aesthetic.
This is an ‘anti-rule’ proposal by Real Sociedad and Macron, who are looking for relief for their players, as this newspaper was able to confirm with the San Sebastian club. The color white is generally disliked by female soccer players because it ‘risks’ blood stains, natural on the other hand, resulting from menstruation, which are too visible. And there are already cases, as Relevo details, of players having to change their pants during matches to avoid being seen. With this blue strip, it is largely avoided and La Real responds to the players’ request and takes another step towards the normalization of women’s football and the comfort of its players.
This is something very new that I have not used until now. In preseason the pants are the normal white worn by the men and in Seville in the League they play the away kit, with dark pants. Last weekend the women’s first team as well as the B team debuted the pants in the Lezama derby. C, for its part, used normal white in its Zubieta match.
