Five arrested for attack on two boys wearing ‘always antifa, Valladolid’ t-shirts

Date:

The National Police have arrested five men, all linked to ultra football groups, who at the end of August attacked two boys “without saying a word” in a nightlife establishment in the Valladolid capital, simply because they were wearing t- shirt that says “always antifa , Valladolid“.

In a statement, the National Police detailed this Thursday that the event took place in the early hours of August 28 at a nightlife establishment located in the center of the city.

There, “the two boys were attacked wordlessly, just for wearing a t-shirt that read “always antifa, Valladolid“”.

From the first moment, investigators weighed the possibility that this was an ideologically motivated attack, which led to its treatment as a hate crime.

That line of investigation was later confirmed and led to the arrest of five men, “all of whom have ties to ultra football groups, including some with incidents related to sports violence.”

They were charged with a crime related to the exercise of fundamental rights and public freedoms, commonly known as a hate crime.

After the detainees were released, the corresponding report was sent to the competent judicial authority, for acts punishable by up to two years in prison, according to the same sources.
