Luciano: “Rubiales’ support for our sport is brutal”

Date:

In the RFEF they ask for freedom to make decisions while in the LNFS they insist that a “successful model” has been “fulminated”

For Luciano Herrero, president of the Futsal Committee of the Murcia Region Football Federation (FFRM), “there is no war”, but a “distance” between the RFEF and the LNFS. «The support of Luis Rubiales and José Miguel Monje [presidente de la FFRM] for our sport is brutal. Not a single euro is spared and everything is done. In Murcia we didn’t have the Junior Division of Honor and now we do. We have grown in all categories and our First Division is the best in the world. Where is the problem? What everyone should know is that the league belongs to the RFEF and it is normal for it to take over its organization,” said the former Mínguez Sáez and Papeles Beltrán de Alcantarilla player.

Why is there a lack of audience in Murcia and Cartagena? “It is true that there is a drop in both places and we have two of the best four teams in Spain and the influx is not optimal though. Few people go to ElPozo and this is something the club needs to analyze. Sport has not helped this year. Being eighth on the second highest budget is a failure. I think this is less pronounced in Cartagena. There is an incredible hobby and when they are needed they are there. It is true that things are going well with Efesé and that has repercussions, because in the end those who go to football and futsal are the same,” he says.

Fran Serrejón, for her part, explains that “at ElPozo we live a lot from the results and this year we have had no contact with our fans because we have not won many games at home. We don’t have the roots that football has. In Murcia there is a deep feeling for Murcia and people follow Real Murcia even though it falls in the fourth category. We don’t have that. But we have had winning cycles with a large audience in the Palace ».

Jiménez Bosque complains about television income. “It cannot be the case that the clubs only receive 60,000 euros from television, while in football there are teams with an audience of less than 50,000 viewers who charge 6 million euros,” said the Cartagena leader.

Gustavo Muñana disagrees. “The television contract signed in 2018 is historic. The clubs used to pay to appear on TV and now they pay them. That’s not the problem. The problem here is that there has been an invasion of powers from a successful model. The LNFS has functioned for 30 years. Today nothing works, as Rubiales has violated the status quo and blown everything up,” the journalist berates.

José Venancio López, futsal technical director of the RFEF, points out that “you have to be generous and look for the best for futsal. I was a selector and stepped aside to fix a problem even though it hasn’t been resolved. Now the same must be done. The LNFS must go, as the current is from the RFEF ».
