Mauri Vansevenantfrom the team Soudal Quick-Stepis the new leader of the Tour of Luxembourg after winning the third stage and wresting the jersey from the Dutchman Mathieu van der Poel.
He Belgian25 years old, was 18 seconds ahead of the Italian David Formolo (Movistar Team) and in 41 a Mathieu van der Poelfrom Alpecin-Deceuninck, who arrived with a group of twelve runners among which was the Spanish Juan Ayuso (UAE), on a route of 201.3 kilometers that starts in Rosport and ends in Diekirch.
Vansevenant won again 583 days after his last victory, in the fifth stage of Tour of Oman on February 15, 2023.
Once the bonuses are applied, the Belgian leads the overall standings with 23 seconds ahead of Formolo and 34 seconds ahead of van der Poel. Ayuso, in thirteenth place, is the first Spaniard in the classification.
This Saturday, the fourth of five stages of the 84 Tour of Luxembourg will take place, a 15.5 kilometer individual time trial that starts and finishes in Differdange.
