The presidential advisor and spokesperson for the Government of the Community of Madrid, Miguel Angel Garciahas ensured that IFEMA Madrid, as sponsor of the Formula 1 grand prix, “it follows its work program” and the calendar that will host this event and insisted that the promise was kept that public administrations “will not provide funds” to carry it out.
García defended IFEMA’s ability to carry out this big prize in the press conference after the Government Council when asked about the statements of the vice president of IFEMA, Engracia Hidalgo, yesterday in the Plenary Session of the City Council where he indicated that they have not yet found “the company that initially wanted the delivery of that risk” to qualify for the Madrid grand prix management contract.
“IFEMA Madrid, as a promoter, follows its work program and taking the necessary steps so that our region can host an award like this,” said the spokesperson of the Government of Isabel Díaz Ayuso.
Regarding Hidalgo’s words about the difficulty of finding an organizing partner, García insisted that IFEMA “works on a fixed calendar”is looking for partners and sponsors, there is also “nothing new” in the grand prix management model, which is why he said they maintain “the peace of mind that the Formula 1 grand prix is underway.”
In this way, García pointed out that IFEMA “works seriously, strictly, following all measures.” and decided that it is “good” that all administrations continue to support the celebration of this event.
