Mercantil defeated Sabadell in the harlequin derby in a hard fought match.
The match started well for Mercantil’s interest as Miguel Expósito immediately moved the scoreboard by beating Biel Escribano after a quick move. But the joy was short-lived, as three minutes later, Izan Rosena turned from her marker and beat Cereza from Vaseline. The start of the match was electric and it didn’t take long for Mercantil to regain the lead when Uri Martín completed a strategic play. Sabadell then equalized with a double chance: a shot by Izan Rosena was cleared by the goalkeeper and the rebound fell to the feet of Barrés who hit the crossbar.
The second half started like the first, with a goal from Mercantil. Miguel Expósito repeated as another action strategy was resolved. Ten minutes later, Sabadell reduced the gap thanks to a penalty scored by Izan Rosena. Iván Sánchez and Alya had chances to equalise, but Mercantil also managed to increase their lead, but defender Pol Fornell saved between the sticks.
