Real Murcia fell after a very long match, in which both teams complained, in which extra time was forced and in the end it was decided in a penalty shootout (6-7).
The match started with the visitors dominating the first 20 minutes, although after the Murcia goalkeeper saved a shot from a low Bakayoko, the home team reacted and Alcaina headed narrowly home a corner kick. Before half-time, this same striker left the defense and stood alone against José Ortega, whom he beat with a low shot. And even before the intermission, the guest Miguelete had tied the game, but its loud shots increased.
In the second half, the game was characterized by more strength than strategy and alternating dominance. Alcaina continued to be Murcia’s most dangerous attacker, while visitor Urri scored in the 54th and 58th minutes In both cases goalkeeper Íker Piedra stopped. But on his third attempt he did not fail and scored the tying goal by collecting a cross from Miguelete.
In extra time Murcia made the decision as they had two good chances. The first was from Carrillo who was alone against Ortega but went wide. And four minutes later, a shot by Dani Vega was again saved by the opposing goal.
Poblense, who defeated Izarra (4-2), will be Sabadell’s rival in the next round of the Federation Cup.
