The Cofidis team announced this Thursday the signing of the Spaniard Sergio Samitier and the extension of his compatriot’s contract Jonathan Lastra one season, until 2025.
Samitier, who has played for Movistar for the last five seasons, is committed to the French team he manages Cédric Vasseur for the next three.
Jonathan Lastra, who joined the French team in 2023, commented that he was “very happy to renew with Cofidis” after a season that he admitted had not been easy. “I am very lucky to know that the team trusts me,” he added.
With the addition of Sergio Samitier and the renewal of Jonathan Lastra, the red and white team will have five Spaniards in its ranks. The other three are Ion Izaguirre, Jesús Herrada and Álex Aranburu.
