The Dutch Loris Veneman (MTM Kawasaki) achieved pole position ahead of Mahendra in the Superpole of the FIM Supersport 300 World Championship of Aragon taking place at the MotorLand circuit in Alcañiz (Teruel).
The driver from the Netherlands took his third pole of the season despite crashing five minutes into the session at the exit of turn 13.
His rival for the title, the interim leader Aldi Mahendra (Team BrCorse), will start second in Race 1 of the Tissot Aragón Round.
Veneman crashed at turn 13, damaging his Kawasaki Ninja 400, which became trapped in the gravel. Against all odds, he made it back to the pit lane where his team managed to fix the bike and get back on track, achieving a record best time of 2’06.300s.
Aldi Mahendra (Team BrCorse) got his fourth front row of the season and will start second thanks to his 2’06.484s. His brother will join him in the front row Dear Hendra Pratama (ProGP NitiRacing).
Daniel Mogeda (Team#109 Retro Traffic Kawasaki) will lead the second row after lapping 12 thousandths slower than Pratama. Julio Garcia (KOVE Racing Team) will start fifth, while his teammate Marc Garcia (KOVE Racing Team) qualified sixth. Both finished a second off the lead.
