Paula Badosa won this Sunday in the third round of the WTA 1,000 China Openby defeating Slovakian Rebecca Sramkova in doubles 7-5 in a match played on the Lotus secondary court of the Beijing complex, which lasted one hour and 49 minutes.

In the first set, the Spaniard broke Sramkova’s serve on two consecutive occasions to go up 4-0.

However, Badosa kept her composure to close out the first set 7-5after protecting his serve and finishing with a decisive break to bury the Slovak’s hopes.
The Spanish tennis player upset the outcome of the first set by saving three break points at a crucial moment and broke Sramkova’s serve in the twelfth game to take the set and the match another 7-5.
The statistics reflect the equality of the rivalry: both tennis players hit three aces each and showed efficiency in the first serve, where Badosa was slightly more effective than Sramkova.
The Spanish are more effective in decisive momentsconverting five of the twelve break points in his favor.
The number 19 racket in the world will face the winner of the duel between American Jessica Pegula, second seed in the tournament, and Russian Veronika Kudermetova in the round of 16.
Badosa will wait in the round of 16 for other seeds such as American Coco Gauffthe Italian Jasmine Paolini and the Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, all pending to reach the next round. The current champion and world number one, Iga Swiatek of Poland, is not participating in this year’s edition of the tournament.
