After yesterday’s disappointment, when, as the favorite, he fell before completing the first lap, today he went out with the ‘obligation’ to correct his mistake. He made one of his rocket starts, took the lead and endured the pressure of Pedro Acosta throughout the race who never gave him a break… Great race for the Madrid native, who hasn’t won on Sunday since last May.

He had his best race of the season. He kept Martín, the race winner, under constant pressure. After going through a mid-season slump, he’s back to being the scary Pedro Acosta from the start of the year a few years ago. He crossed the finish line less than two seconds behind the winner. It conveys the feeling that you are in the learning phase every day, and doing it early, it is a master’s degree for the next year.

Bad start again

For the fifth time in a row, the Italian driver failed at the start. Their technicians are not done adjusting the power/electronics ratio when leaving the grid. Sixth on the first step to the finish line, overtaking drivers conditioned his career. Batianini’s fall and Acosta’s penalty were two unexpected gifts.

His fall is increasing

As always, racing strategy has gone from less to more. When he put on the ‘turbo’ he started to recover tenth after tenth from Acosta and Martín… but he was ‘stuck’. On lap 21, with the series remaining, he crashed in turn #1; his first fall of the season in a race Sunday.

engine breakdown

Brake problems in the morning forced Márquez to start the race on his second bike. He failed to repeat his super start yesterday. When he was running seventh, his engine broke. The commissioners had to use their fire extinguishers to keep it from going up in flames.
