The death of the young Swiss cyclist on Friday Muriel FurrerJust 18 years old, during the cycling world championships in Zurich, is a tragedy that should prompt the peloton to be more cautious. This is the opinion of the new men’s world champion, the Slovenian TAdej Pogacar, who remembered his dead colleague after his impressive victory in Zurich.
“It’s a tragedy, first obviously for his family and loved ones, for the Swiss team, but also for the entire cycling community“, emphasized the Slovenian in a press conference.
“It’s very difficult. This weekend, we’ve all run thinking about her,” he added. “It’s hard to know what to change. Cycling is a dangerous sport and has become more so in recent years. “It happens all too often,” he explained.
“We should be more careful on the roadworrying about each other when we ride in a peloton, pay attention to others, respect each other. We are only human and we don’t want anything to happen to anyone,” he developed.
