The Diamond League will have fifteen events on its 2025 calendar, starting again in China in April and a two-day final in Zurich (Switzerland) on August 27 and 28 before the World Championships in Tokyo (Japan) in September.
In response to the circuit of Grand Slam Track by Michael Johnson, which will premiere in 2025 with four stops – only one in Los Angeles confirmed – and a very high financial stake, the Diamond League He wants to get ahead of the athletic year by confirming the venues and dates of next year’s exams.
Xiamen and the shared test between Shanghai and Suzhou will be the first two, reopening the circuit in China which will conclude with a two-day final in Zurich, before the Tokyo World Championships, which start on September 13.
For next year, and also to fight the Grand Slam, the Diamond League will raise financial awards to the highest level in history, more than nine million dollars, which is almost a third of the amount paid during the period affected by the pandemic from 2021 to 2024.
