“FCF is a nest of corruption”

Date:

Miguel Galan He left no loose ends in his fight against corruption and also emerged as a popular accuser in the case opened for alleged irregularities in the elections for the presidency of the Catalan Football Federation (FCF) in February 13, 2023 and gave as the winner the candidacy of Soteras Vigo.

Why did you decide to enter this process as well?

FCF is a nest of corruption. When there are public crimes, such as the crime of forgery of public documents (in reference to the alleged falsification of notarial records in elections), the protected legal assets are legal transfers and above all the public faith. It is necessary to see to what extent the notary is responsible for accepting all the false notaries. He has to make sure that people’s identities are what they say and in this case I think there is, at least, a regularity of the notary.

Are you forced, then, within the framework of your fight against corruption in football, not to miss it?

This is a public crime and my association, Transparency and Democracy of Sport – which I founded in 2018 – is pursuing it. Therefore, regardless of whether there are private third parties who have been harmed, the general interest of Catalan football has been harmed, so I have the obligation, as president of the association, to present myself as a popular accuser and bring this case to , once and for all, law. This means that the will of the Catalan clubs will be fulfilled, that Juanjo Isern is the president of the FCF. But it is not only the will of the Catalan clubs, but also of the Generalitat of Catalonia, which agreed to the request of Juanjo Isern (it agreed to him).

So, don’t you see a new election?

The new election cannot be held because the rights of Juanjo Isern, who won, will be violated. The elections must be held with the other participants, excluding Soteras. The other candidate’s result was 12 votes compared to Isern’s 300 or more. So, what jurisprudence says is that when there is this kind of thing, the next person wins, in this case Juanjo Isern. Furthermore, if Soteras is smart and doesn’t want to go to jail, he will leave. Because when we enter as a popular accusation, we will begin to ask for precautionary measures and measures, including the suspension of the general director, José Miguel Calle and the suspension of Soteras and let’s dot the i’s. Because it will be shown that, if he was not the material author of the falsification of those signatures, he could somehow be the intellectual author and necessary collaborator, since all those workers responded to the orders of Soteras.

What do you think the resolution will be?

I believe the judge’s decision has been made. Now the judge’s debate is what to do: whether to call an election with the remaining candidates or appoint Isern. Soteras had to think he was leaving.

There is talk that Soteras could end up in the RFEF.

It is now his grave, if he dares to run as a candidate for the RFEF presidency. This was his downfall. The public can’t see this man because they have a lot of dead people in the closet that will come out now. I’m not the one who said it. There was a court in Sabadell that charged him and there were witnesses, presidents who said that members of his candidacy forged his signature.

You previously requested the disqualification of Soteras.

Yes, because of the Rocha issue. This man is very rude. He made several statements in which he said that ‘the president of the RFEF is whoever we want as territorial presidents’. And he felt very comfortable. And he says this as a member of the managing committee, and president of a territorial, thus violating neutrality.

Many patterns of behavior are repeated and also in terms of how things are done, in fact, the complaints in the RFEF and in the FCF are similar, what is the reason?

It is the erotic of power. They want to have power that they don’t have in other aspects of their lives. Because being the president of a club, like Soteras, doesn’t give him that power, to go to Las Rozas, to meet with everyone… and that’s why they killed. And those who were with them, who charged a great price for the land, killed for that money.

The profile he made of Rubiales is also somewhat reminiscent of what we saw here of President Soteras after a series of audios surfaced in which he made misogynistic and xenophobic comments. What have we done wrong to have these kinds of leaders in the 21st century?

If a character like Rubiales can be president of the RFEF, it can be anyone. If Rubiales is ‘Torrente’, Soteras is ‘Torrente 2.0’. These are people who do not live in the 21st century. The issue of equality does not exist. They do not respect the rights of women, homosexuals, immigrants… They are taken from another era.
